It is with a sadness that I let you all know that Ron Saunders, an avid supporter of both our Old and New Probus Clubs, having felt unwell at a recent family get-together, passed away in hospital at the ripe young age of 90. On behalf of the Club, I have passed on our condolences to Kathleen and Fiona his daughter who was the one who contacted me with the sad news. Ron & Kathleen have not been attending our lunches since April 2022 when they moved to Saffron Walden to be nearer their family.
Details of Ron’s Funeral in Saffron Walden are below, along with the names of the charities dear to Ron’s heart for your donations that can be sent personally via the Funeral Directors https://peasgoodandskeates.co.uk/ or if preferred, can be transferred to the Club’s Lloyds Account, with the reference ‘Ron’ for collation and sending on your behalf. Cash in an envelope with your name on it can also be handed to Me/Lorna at the Lunch to be paid into our Club’s account to be sent on, just after the funeral.
Ron’s funeral is being made available via webcast as a number of family members and friends who want to attend aren’t able to make it, due to travels, distance or ill health. I thought I would forward the details to you ,in case any of your members would have liked to attend but aren’t able to. The details are:

We will observe a minutes reflection for Ron – a retired member who served
on Canberras at RAF Wyton - at our Lunch on 15th.
